The other day I was at work and this guy spotted me. Well, he didn’t hesitate and started making small talk with me. “What’s your name?” Was his pickup line. Well I told him mine, and of course I already knew his. He went on to tell me how much he loves girls with big eyes and all, and well, we ended up exchanging contacts a few days later. Thing with me during weekdays, I don’t have time to chat with everyone who texts me. So he texts, “Tell me about you.” I told him that I am a closed book.

Generally, I am not a person who puts my life out there for all and sundry. I love it when people find out what I am all about, on their own. I may tell you the basics, but that’s just it. Even in interviews, I’ve had to come up with a way I define myself without giving out too much information and at the same time, giving what is needed.

So who am I?

There’s so many ways I can think of simply saying who I am. I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, a girlfriend and so much more. Another way of saying this is I am a journalist and a blogger. Something you will find on my social media bios.

And as someone close to my heart would say, I am a cool, calm and collected individual. I am the calm in a storm.

It’s funny because unless I open up to someone, everyone too has their own definition of who I am. Because I open up to very few people, everyone knows me as the one person who is always happy. Even when I am stressed or disturbed, I will smile and you would think everything is fine. That is just me.

These two words describe a single human, who happens to be me. As a teenager I always wanted to be out of the house. I thought of being indoors as boring.

Now in my early 20s, I am trying to balance my career, my time, and my social life. I am not there yet, but still getting there. I leave the office so tired and literally take the next bus home. You would think I am running to my baby or something. There is something about being home that just makes me so relaxed. Writing this now, I had to cancel a social gathering I was booked for, just to be home and at least have my me time before the crazy week begins.

Then there is this other side that is trying to go to people’s birthdays, go for happy hours and actually mingle with my friends. Before I go for these, I am always ensuring that nothing will be left pending when I am outdoors.

I live by so many mantras, depending on the mood I have. However, there’s one about living life to the fullest.

I’ll leave it here.

Let's be friends. Let's hang out every week, catch up, and just have a good time.

PS: Tell a friend to tell a friend where we meet ?
