Happy Easter guys!!! I have been waiting for this holiday since New Year lol. And yes, I am posting this from home 😀 I came to see the ‘rents J
Today, I’m doing something a little different. Something I have never done, and something that is exciting for me. This is a recap of my first quarter of the year favorites, and a little update on where I’m at in general. This should be fun. Hope you follow through and try out a few things from this.
My year started out- I would say normally. In February I turned 24 and weh, that scared me. Getting into my mid-twenties just came with some pressure. All through the first three months, it has been a process of learning, loving, letting go and renewing relationships.
My greatest lesson so far has been not to force myself into situations, but let Him take me through every situation. I am slowly learning to do that, though with a little struggles of taking myself back into situations I had vowed not to. All in all, it is a process.
I have so much lined up for the next quarter, and what guides me is when you commit all your plans to the Lord, he will establish them.
So here are a few of my favorites this far:
Book: The Last Black Unicorn
This by far is one of my favorite books this year. Read my review here.
Tiffany Haddish talks about her life in a way only she can. She opens up about abuse from an early age, her relationships and marriage, divorce, marriage and then divorce from the same man, and finally her rise to success. This is a book that will make you laugh, cry and aspire to be great. For those going through similar situations, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Dress: Ankara Off-Shoulder
When I had this dress made, I knew I would love it. I had pictured myself in an off-shoulder Ankara dress for a long time, without even knowing what I wanted my material to look like.
Then I walked into a fabric store to choose the material I wanted and it took me close to 30 minutes looking at various materials and returning them. I eventually settled on this particular one that I just love.
I still haven’t gotten to wear this dress wear I want to, but I will very soon, and of course you will see the photos.
I believe Ankara is something that every lady should have. Just a touch of it makes a lot of difference. #WakandaForever ?
Music: Hills & Valleys – Tauren Wells
I don’t listen to music that much, but when I do, I enjoy the music that gets deep into my soul.
I was introduced to this musician and instantly fell in love with his music. Honestly, I love all his songs. The words, are deep.
Here is what he says in part of this song I love so much:
On the mountains, I will bow my life
To the one who set me there
In the valley, I will lift my eyes to the one who sees me there
When I’m standing on the mountain aft, didn’t get there on my own
When I’m walking through the valley end, no I am not alone!
You’re God of the hills and valleys!
Hills and Valleys!
God of the hills and valleys
And I am not alone!
In my mitumba haul a few months ago, I got these really cute and comfortable sandals at 200bob. I thought of how comfortable they’ll be when I travel and I got them. So far, they have not disappointed me.
Every time I do my toe nails, I show them off in these sandals too. This, you should definitely get a pair for yourself.
I was on e-bay a while back and decided to do some shopping. I saw these really cool sunglasses and decided to have them. They were about $2 which is quite affordable I must say coz I didn’t incur any shipping costs. These are just perfect.
Thank me later ?
That’s a wrap for my first quarter favorites. I hope this has inspired you and motivated you even just a little. Or even provided you a happy break in your day!
Until next time, all my love
