How have you been? I know, it’s been such a long time since we sat down for our weekly chats.
I have been so overwhelmed this last month. I took on a lot of projects and trying to do everything became close to impossible for me.
But here’s to finishing the year stronger!
I just thought of coming on here today to let you in on a few things I have learned from my experiences this past month. These will be beneficial to you too:
You are exactly where you are meant to be
So many times here I have spoken about how things haven’t really gone how I thought they would, according to my plans, and how that threw me off-guard quite a bit.
This past month made me realize that had my plans gone through when I wanted them to, I would not have experienced the moments I had.
One of the things that really affirmed this for me was a request I received to be featured in one of our local newspapers. I remember asking the journalist if he wanted to feature me or someone I work with because well, a chunk of my work revolves around looking for media coverage a few times. Well, long story short, your girl got featured here.
So, if you are in doubt about how your life is going and the path you are on, just know that at this moment, you are in the right place. You may not see it now, but it’ll make sense someday…it will.
Surround yourself with people who mention your name in rooms full of opportunities
What kind of friends do you have, and what do you like about them?
The older I have gotten, the smaller my circle of friends has been, but the more valuable my friendships have been.
I ‘launched’ a new baby, my social media management service and although I haven’t put much word out there about it, one of my friends has made it her duty to mention my name and show my work to anyone interested in building an online presence.
This has just shown me how important it is for you to surround yourself with people who know your strengths and can refer you to other people.
Again, I ask, what kind of friends do you have?
Try out new things. You have it in you to succeed
A few months back, my friend and I were having a chat about some of the things I do in my daily life. She encouraged me to take up spaces that would allow me to speak on these. My response at the time was that I was shy – something I always say to get out of something 😅.
Well, she persisted and won.
This past month, I was able to take up a space and although draining, my friend always reminded me that I had it in me to succeed at it.
Safe to say I did!
Whatever it is you are unsure about, you have it in you to make it work.
You have it in you.
Rest is key
I pushed my body so hard this past month with crazy working hours that it forced me to rest. I got so sick towards the end of the month and although I had so much work planned for that time, it had to wait. I could just not do it all.
In as much as we are after the bag, give your body a little rest. You deserve it.
