There is no such thing as perfect. Nobody attains perfection. But if you keep trying, you grow and evolve, and to me, that’s the point. To be a better person today than I was yesterday, to become the best possible version of myself.
Of the Kardashian sisters, Khloe happens to be my favorite. You know the way you follow someone and are part of their lives – like every relationship they get into, you have a say and stuff? That is exactly how I feel about her.
And no, I am no stalker. She is just my fav!
Her book is something I knew I had to get as soon as it became cheaper ;D
Strong Looks, Better Naked
As the title puts it, yes, there are a few photos of her covered in just a sheet. In the book, Khloe shares her secrets for finding the strength of body, heart, mind, and soul with inspirational, revealing stories of her own struggles with weight, relationships, and her self-image.
She writes about the power of strength: a strong body lays the foundation for a strong mind, which leads to strength of heart, character, and ultimately spirit.
I am not sure whether to call this a self-help book or a memoir. As I flipped the pages however, it became clear that she is trying to help those who may be faced with some situations she went through.
For me, many of the chapters were a replay of the scenes and episodes I had watched on the popular KUWTK.
Khloe has always been referred to as the ‘fat’ Kardashian – something she talks about in the book.
When she finally made the decision to change her body, she started with changing what she ate and eventually exercised. When she got married to basketballer Lamar Odom, she moved in order to support him, and the gym became her best friend. Eventually, she could not stop.
When she and Lamar divorced, she was hurt, but in the glaring eye of the paparazzi, she had to be strong. Here, she talks on how she dealt with it.
Once she started working hard to improve an element of herself, the quality of her entire life improved dramatically.
She also talks about being a problem solver and not just letting problems take over your life. “You bring me problems, I’ll give you solutions.” Instead of sitting around obsessing about a problem, look for a way to change your situation.
A couple of pages have recipes of some healthy meals she makes and that you too can try incorporate into your diet.
She talks about friendship, and goes on to give rules for choosing the right friends:
– Look for people who will enrich your life.
– Look for people with qualities you admire.
– Look for honesty above all else
– Surround yourself with people who want you to succeed
– Look for people who are driven
– Look beyond the surface
– Don’t look for perfection in others, and steer clear of people who expect perfection in you.
In it all, she shed light on some of her darkest times, including the death of her father.
She finishes by talking about the future and how she hopes to be married with children.
Her goal is to be happy – to live a rich, interesting, productive, generous, kind, and mindful life.
